| Day 1 | Depart Home | HOME CITY - PANAMA Meet and Greet upon arrival to Panama's International Airport, and transfer to the 4-star HOTEL RIANDE CONTINENTAL AND CASINO. Welcome Dinner! D |
| Day 2 | Panama City | PANAMA CITY - CITY TOUR Following breakfast, sightseeing tour of this thriving financial capital city, its modern neighborhoods, old and colonial areas. Then it's on to the former Canal Zone, the Administration Building, railroad, and former U.S. MIlitary bases, Albrook Airfield and Clayton. Continue to Miraflores Visitor Center, one of the Panama Canal's three lock culverts, to enjoy a ten minute documentary on the operation of the locks to better understand its operation. With a little luck you will see a large ship traversing the canal from only a few meters away. Then it's lunch in a restaurant at the Amador Causeway with its lively restaurants, cafes, bars and fantastic view of the city and entrance of the Pacific side of the canal. B/L |
| Day 3 | Panama Canal | PANAMA CANAL Early morning departure following breakfast to Flamenco Pier to enjoy a cruise and partial transit of the Panama Canal, the best way to experience first hand this engineering marvel and complete your visit from the previous day. You will see the canal and its locks in operation, saliling with the tankers, cargo ships, and perhaps even an ocean liner as you enjoy anecdotes and history of the Panama Canal dating back nearly 100 years. Pass through two or three locks, and under the majestic Centernario Bridge. Mid afternoon return to your hotel. B/L |
| Day 4 | Cloud Forest | CHIRIQUI HIGHLANDS - CLOUD FOREST Following breakfast, transfer to the local airport in Albrook to board flight to David in the western province of Chiriqui and near to the border with neighboring Costa Rica. Meet and Greet upon arrival, and transfer to the beautiful mountainous area of Boquete. Enjoy panoramic tour of the area, the local history, a visit to the Don Alberto Sandberg Coffee Plantation, and coffee processing plants of Caffe Sitton and Don Plinio Ruiz. This lush region is home to fabulous coffees including Arabigo, Caturra and Catual. Then it's a delicious lunch with local mountain flavor enjoying panoramic views, beautiful gardens and indigenous flowers. Early afternoon, check-in to the charming VILLA MARITA LODGE. Remainder of afternoon and evening free to relax, enjoy the fantastic views, hike, or visit the local town. B/L |
| Day 5 | Cloud Forest | CHIRIQUI HIGHLANDS - CLOUD FOREST Following breakfast, depart for Boquete Tree Trek Canopy Tour, a one of a kind soft adventure in Panama's rain forest. You will glide through treetops of century old forests, high above pristine rivers and waterfalls marvelling at the incredible scenery all around you enjoying up close glimpses of small animals, birds, great varieties of orchids and wildflowers, and perhaps monkeys and the elusively beautiful quetzal. | Day 6 | Panama City | CHIRIQUI - SITIO BARRILES - FINCA DRACULA - PANAMA CITY Following breakfast, depart our hotel on route to Sitio Barriles, known as an open window to the past in the highlands of the neighboring town of Volcan where archaeologists have unearthed petroglyphs and remnants of several ancient civilizations that thirved in the Baru Volcano area. Continue to famous Finca Dracula which began as a hobby in 1969 by its owner, Andres Maruro. Formerly cattle pastures with a main house built in the 1920's by Swiss-German immigrants, the finca covers over 22 acres and houses over 2,200 varieties of orchids from all over the world. Then it's lunch in a local restaurant, and transfer to local airport in city of David for flight back to Panama City. Meet and Greet upon arrival to the Airport, and transfer to the 4-star HOTEL RIANDE CONTINENTAL HOTEL & CASINO. B/L |
| Day 7 | Soberania National Park | SOBERANIA NATIONAL PARK Following breakfast, depart for a visit to this marvellous national treasure considered one of the most accessible areas for bird watching and wildlife observation in Central America. Pipeline Road is famous among bird watchers and nature enthusiasts the world over for its incredible diversity. Afternoon, return to your hotel. B/BL |
| Day 8 | Chagres River | EMBERA INDIGENOUS COMMUNITY - CHAGRES RIVER Following breakfast, depart for visit to the Embera indigenous community. After overland transfer of approximatelly one hour, reach shores of of Lake Alajuela (Lake Madden). The balance of journey to Embera Village is in local dugout canoes, on the lake or the rivers Chagres or Pequeni, depending on time of year and water levels. The Emberas proudly adorned with colorful body paint demonstrate their unique culture, the beauty of their dances and remarkable handicrafts. You are invited to share their traditional dish of fried fish with fried plantain in a banana leaf. Late afternoon, return to your hotel. Suggestions: please wear comfortable clothing, bring a swim suit, hat or cap, sneakers or comfortable walking shoes, and sunscreen. In the evening, depart for Las Tinajas for a farewell and authentic folkloric show while enjoying a typical Panamaniam dinner. B/L/D |
